Support for Magento 1 ends in June 2020. Magento has not only decided to end the support for 1.x version but also announced that Magento will no longer be servicing or supporting the Magento 2.0-2.2.9 versions as of the end of 2019. Magento has planned to stop providing security updates in June 2020 for Magento 1 version.
PHP 7.1 is reaching the end of support and updates which could result in a risk for PCI compliance for merchants with any eCommerce system that uses PHP 7.1 or older. Any Magento website that is still using Magento commerce 2.2.0-2.2.9 should update or migrate to the latest Magento version with PHP 7.2 or 7.3 to continue enjoying the stability and security of Magento 2.3.
